All our instructors hold Government Accredited Pilates Qualifications at either Diploma or advanced Diploma level.

Our studio is easily accessible by car or public transport. By train, our studio is a short 5-minute walk from South Yarra Train Station. By tram, Route 58 connects clients from Melbourne to Toorak, with the closest stop being Punt Road Stop 125. Those arriving by car can take advantage of 1 & 2hr free parking on Caroline St, North or Macfarlan St. There are two paid (underground & outside) carparks enter from either Macfarlan or Caroline Streets.

Jennifer first explored Pilates whilst performing during 1994 and since then has had extensive training and experience. In 1998 she began teaching the Pilates Method, and in 2000 she took on a senior instructor role for Pilates International Sydney. Jennifer went on to complete her formal International Certification through the Body Arts & Science Professional Program in 2002 before upgrading to the formal qualification of Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice in 2005. Jennifer holds Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and was a leading Faculty member for PilatesITC before leaving for Melbourne in 2008.
In 2008 Jennifer joined Daily Pilates as a Principal Instructor, while continuing to be a Teacher Trainer & Educator for PilatesITC, and concurrently undertaking her Masters in Choreography. In 2010 Pilates International accredited the highest ever Pilates qualification at Advanced Diploma, which Jennifer successfully completed in the faculty Upgrade Program. Jennifer is a Principal Trainer member of the Pilates Alliance Australasia. Jennifer is now Director and Principal Trainer for Pilates International Melbourne.
Background:
Jennifer graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1985 with a BA in Dance. A professional dancer with a career spanning over 20 years, Jennifer has performed & toured extensively, nationally and internationally.
Since 1985 in conjunction with her performing, Jennifer also taught contemporary dance, contact improvisation, classical, composition, release & alignment classes and functional anatomy for companies, independent dance projects in Primary and Tertiary institutions such as WAAPA, VCA, NIDA open classes, Ausdance, UTS, Sydney Dance Company Open classes, NORPA, Laban Centre, School of Theatre Film & Dance University of NSW and NAISDA Dance College. Jennifer has practiced Yoga since 1984, she gained her Anatomy & Physiology Certificate and completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Synergy in 2000 where she taught for Yoga Synergy, Sydney.

Sophie graduated from Ballarat University with a BA in acting in 1995 and is an international fellow of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre London. She has made a successful career working in the arts as an actor and singer and managing her own theatre company, Essential Theatre. The physical demands of performing was the key to her developing a passion for Pilates. A love of anatomy and movement led her to further study completing her initial mat teacher training with Body Control Pilates UK in 2005 and her cert IV in Personal Training in 2009, she has since gained further qualifications with Polestar International.

In recent years Sophie has been exploring other body work including Action Theatre (improvisational movement) , Fitzmaurice Breathwork & Gaga, a practice of embodied movement. Sophie often works with actors and singers to help them connect mind, body and voice. As a pilates instructor Sophie is passionate about breath and the whole body approach. She also enjoys a good laugh.

Minh is a passionate and precise Pilates teacher whose journey to becoming a Pilates Instructor began with her extensive martial arts training. In 2001 Minh began Taekwondo and in 2007 she undertook Muay Thai Boxing. From this training Minh was drawn to the Pilates Method due to the similarities in practice – such as the connection between the mind and body, the use of breath and the focus on the quality of the movement.
Minh began practicing at PilatesINT Melbourne with studio director Jennifer Newman-Preston and completed her Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction through National Pilates Training in 2012. As a Pilates instructor Minh is especially committed to facilitating the transformation that the Pilates method can bring to the body and the mind.
